Q: How to transfer just the OS to a new hard drive
Hi Guys,
My Macbook pro is a Mid 2010 range and its got to the point where I need to get a SSD as the 750GB SATA drive is so slow its frustrating.
What I am planning on doing is replacing the CD drive with the original drive and and putting a new 250GB SSD in place of the old drive. What I would like to know is how can I copy just the OS onto the SSD and make it the primary drive to boot up from so it is faster. I will also copy other applications etc onto the SSD and leave the SATA drive just for documents and smaller things. I have used about 600GB on the SATA drive so not everything will fit on the new drive hence why I would like to be able to do it this way.
Thanks
