Q: Why AC2.3 is failing when we try to Restore or Prepare iOS devices ?

I am trying to wipe devices and it fails each time. We use PowerSync D20 Bretford USB hubs with Macbook Pro . We were erasing and preparing without issues 1000+ devices with AC2.2.1 but now it is failing with AC2.3. Whats going on here? Preparing is the worst with AC2.3 and iOS10.0.1 , it tells me that devices are prepared but they are not because they were erased. I can only stop or erase the devices. Any ideas ? Please help. Thx

MacBook Pro, iOS 10, Apple Configurator 2.3

I am having similar issues and still using ACU 2.2.1. I believe it is related more to the release of IOS 10 as it was working fine on Monday Sept 12, then I started having the issues with several iPads failing during a Restore command, and IOS 10 was released on Tuesday I think. I saw an article saying you can wipe your devices successfully with iTunes, but only one at a time and we also have over 1500 devices, so that's not an option for us.

Actually, just got off the phone with Apple Enterprise support, they are aware of this issue and said to resolve it, you must update both iTunes and Apple Configurator except you need to run the iTunes update first, before the ACU update. I will be testing this tomorrow morning. Hope that helps!

Personally I think it is a small BS. I didn't have itunes when I was running AC2.2.1. I removed itunes with command line because we do not need it. I did try AC2.3 with or without iTunes or update 1st itunes and install AC2.3 , sorry but this doesn't sound good for me. Itunes doesn't have anything to do with AC. I would like to go back to AC2.2.1 but I don't know how to do it. It is my mistake too , I should do backup 1st before updating AC. There will be more people with similar issues, I have to say that we have 6 Macbook Pro with 2 per Mac PowerSync D20 Bretford USB Hubs, that's mean 40 ios devices per each Mac = 240 total . The same exactly problem is on each MAC with AC2.3 , it will not erase 20, 10 or 5 anymore. AC2.3 works just fine if you do 1 or 2. I will wait for update or any fix from apple communities , hope it will be soon. Let me know if it worked for you.

This error happened after I updated iTunes to 12.5.1 and Apple Configurator to 2.3. It was working perfectly with Apple configurator 2.2.1 . Now it is disaster. Still waiting for email from Apple. Logs were sent after they respond to me. In mean while , if you know how to fix it, please let us know.  This error shows on each MacBook Pro . Random number of devices out of 10 can be erased , usually from 1 to 6.
