Q: Image Capture not recognizing ANYTHING- Yosemite

This is my last resort as I am about to lose my mind..... I love Apple products but Image Capture is testing my patience.

I have a iMac running Yosemite 10.10.5 with latest updates.

Image capture DOES NOT RECOGNIZE ANYTHING! Phone, CF/SD cards but MOST importantly it does not recognize my printer/scanners... EITHER OF THEM! My CF/SD/Micro SD cards are displayed on my desktop and I can find them in finder.... but they fail to populate in Image Capture. Same with Iphone...

I can print from any/all programs. Photoshop, Word.. whatever... they print fine.

Yes, I have reset my printing systems. (I doubt that was it because Image Capture fails to recognize anything)

I have updated all software and drivers... both mac and HP and EPSON.

I have reset disk permissions.

NOTHING brings Image Capture back to life?! I am sooooo frustrated with Image Capture right now its beyond ridiculous. It HAS to be something in the Mac as Image Capture is not recognizing anything and even when I open HP scan it will not recognize the printer/scanner.

If anyone has any insight that might fix this problem please let me know!

iMac (27-inch Mid 2011), OS X Yosemite (10.10.5)
