I have tried this several times. I am trying different thing. I may have to just look at my unread, not all my mail. It seems to crash when I look at all my mai. Thanks for your response.

Sep 18, 2016 3:55 PM in response to vtsueby PierUK,★HelpfulHi, I have the same problem, I think it is a bug and there's probably not much we can do until Apple rectify this in the next update. Also, I don't have the arrows to navigate between emails either. So I have to make the side menu appear every time which is quite annoying. Cheers, Pierre.

Sep 18, 2016 4:03 PM in response to PierUKby vtsue,HI Pierre,
Unfortunate as this is, at least I know I'm not the only one having this issue, that it is not unique to my iPad or mail server. I have an iPhone 6s which doesn't appear to have this issue. I hope Apple monitors this & fixes it soon too. Thanks for letting me know I'm not alone, vtsue

Sep 21, 2016 11:58 AM in response to vtsueby bayoutwang,Same issue here with both iPhone 6 and iPad Air2. It always happens when it is fetching mail. Most of the time just one crash and then stable, but on occasion it will crash repeatedly. Have done hard reset a couple times with no improvement. Have not deleted/re-installed email accounts as I have 4 and it hasn't reached that level of annoyance, yet.

Sep 22, 2016 6:33 AM in response to dlflanneryby vtsue,HI,
I'm sorry you're having this issue too but we aren't alone. I have thought about deleting & adding my mail account
or as I just discovered deleting the Mail app entirely, new with iOS 10. But since I still can get my mail I'm waiting for Apple to fix this too.

Sep 23, 2016 1:17 PM in response to vtsueby dlflannery,In addition to rebooting my iPad4 I have also reset my network connection and deleted/re-installed my email account. I still get crashes back to home screen sometimes when I delete an email.

Sep 25, 2016 6:41 AM in response to vtsueby User from Texas,Same problem for me as well. Email will "sit there" for a bit and finally crash. Double tapping the home button and closing the app seems to help maybe 20% of the time. Very annoying.
Recommending to everyone I know to not update until iOS 10 becomes less beta. C'mon Apple!

Sep 29, 2016 8:24 AM in response to vtsueby RichardFerriera,CCrashes on both my iPhone and iPad! Seems I can read 5 or 6 emails before it crashes.....every time! As one said very annoying to say the least!
I Did try everything but deleting the mail App, which I am afraid to do! So Apple get your act together and please come out with a fix.....soon.

Sep 29, 2016 11:43 AM in response to vtsueby smalltropolis,I have an iPad 4 with the same problem, too. I thought the newest update 10.0.2 would bring the solution... but sadly, the problem remains.
I hope Apple will fix it soon...!!!

Sep 29, 2016 4:20 PM in response to smalltropolisby vtsue,I have been afraid to do that update in case it made the Mail app worse! I was hoping somebody was brave enough to delete the Mail app & reinstall it. Or some Apple genius would help us out! My app seems to crash mostly when it's downloading a mail message from a store, etc. Not a plain text email. But not always. I really like the Mail app. My internet provider's email is terrible & Windows based so I don't use it unless I need to do some cleanup. I dislike G-mail too. So I guess I have to wait to get a newer iPad which will be awhile.

Sep 29, 2016 5:02 PM in response to vtsueby bayoutwang,I did delete the mail app, but it does not actually delete it - just hides it. It did not improve the situation. I have been messing with turning off some of my (4) email accounts to see if there is one (or more) that are causing the problem. But again no clear solution.
And no, the update did not help me either.

Oct 2, 2016 1:55 PM in response to smalltropolisby pamfromgrapevine,Same trouble with my ipad, even after restarting, etc. and hoping the 10.0.2 would fix. Tried to report this to Apple via chat but it wasn't available.
