why can I not edit my contacts from search with new ios 10.0.1

It appears as though they changed the way Search works after the update. You can still edit contacts by opening the Contacts app, and then opening the contact you wish to change. We're not sure why they made the change but unfortunately it is beyond us. I'm sure they had a reason for it. If not they will probably patch it in another mini update.
