Q: IPhone Doesn't show up in "Devices and drives" but does still open ITunes

When I connect my IPhone to my PC it does open up ITunes and shows up under devices, however it doesn't show up under This Computer - Devices and drives. It is also not showing that i am connected to it via the usb, however it does show up in devices and printers as unspecified, but I cannot do anything from there with it.

I am currently on windows 10 and have recently updated my phone to the latest ios 10.

I have been able to connect to my PC and transfer photos etc. in the past, but this is the first time I have tried since the update, so I am not sure if it is because of the update.

Please help!!

    Hello Butterflycake,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

I see that when you connect your iPhone to your Windows PC, it is recognized in iTunes, but not in This Computer - Devices and drives. I know that it is very important to be able to connect your iPhone to your computer and browse the connected device how you want. That's great that it is recognized in iTunes, but I have something that I would like you to try to see if it is recognized in the This Computer section of your Windows PC.

Please take a look at the article Get the latest drivers on your Windows PC to try and update the drivers on your Windows PC to make sure Apple software and related hardware work correctly.

    Have a great day!
