Q: Bluetooth connectivity issues on iOS 10.

Since I updated to iOS 10, my iPhone 6S Plus is not properly connecting to my car - 2007 BMW 530xi. I had no problems prior to updating to iOS 10.

MY phone shows that it is connected and so does my car. However, my phone calls are being dropped at the beginning of the conversation. I answer the phone through my car yet it will not work for whatever reason. I then try to change to speaker settings from my car to my phone then back to my car to no avail.

Please do not ask me to try simple stupid troubleshooting as I have already done so. I have used Apple products and iPhone specifically since the iPhone 4. I know what I am doing. It is just that iOS 10 has broken some internal functionality with regards to Bluetooth connectivity.

If anyone else is having similar issues with their iOS 10 Bluetooth not connecting, please state so so that Apple can rush a quick update. I cannot even use my Bluetooth in my car which is very frustrating as I drive a lot for work and do not want to put on headphones or anything else on my ears while driving as it is pointless to me.

I have the EXACT same problem. For me it's a 2016 X3, but the behavior is the same. The devices think they are connected, but in effect are not.

I have reset my network connections, I have disconnected and re-connected manually, and some other trial and error steps. None have equated to the sustained, stable connection I had with iOS 9.

I had similar issues that are now fixed.  On my iPhone 7, I went to Setting > Bluetooth and turned off Bluetooth.  I then turned Bluetooth back on and I was then able to connect to my car (Honda Accord) via Bluetooth.

I hope that this isn't considered "simple stupid troubleshooting" LOL :-)

    Good luck.

Not stupid at all. I actually did the same thing, and the results have been inconsistent.

Glad it worked for you though. I'll continue to fiddle, but I think I am at the mercy of an update to the update at this point.

Tried this but nothing really happened. I know it's not the car because it worked flawlessly prior to me updating to iOS 10...

Not sure if it makes a difference at all but I have a 6S, not a 7. May or may not make a difference. Only apple knows.

I have a 2007 530xi. I know some people on BMW forums were complaining along with Audi forums - and I think I read somewhere that Lexus or something also? Not sure about the latter but definitely so about the first two.

Telling people I know with car Bluetooth not to upgrade at the moment due to this.

Same problem here on a 2007 BMW X5, its showing they are connected but phone calls are not going through the speakers, also it's not sharing contacts. On the BMW screen it is showing recent numbers but no names.  I have even done the update to versions 10.0.2.

    Please help

Same here. I Updated thinking it would be fixed but nothing happened. I get phone calls and try answering but it won't connect even though it shows that it's connected. Not much we can do besides complain about it at this point.
