Sep 21, 2016 3:42 PM in response to Weibleby Meg St._Clair,As no one here has had any experience with this as of yet unreleased product, it would be hard to say. What I can tell you is the BT headset I have that works with Siri uses the headset microphone.

Sep 21, 2016 4:08 PM in response to Meg St._Clairby Weible,Thanks, I just figured out the question was based on some bad info anyway. I've been having problems with Siri not understanding me via earpods. When researching online I came across some posts that suggested the phone mic was being used instead of the earpod mic and accepted that was the problem.
I just realized it was actually user error. I was holding the center button while speaking, which I'm pretty sure is how it worked once upon a time. Figured out you hold the button till Siri activates then release the button to speak commands.
Bottom line: Siri does use the earpod mic and I'm sure airpods will be the same.

I suspect you're correct. I look forward to finding out.

When activating Siri from either AirPod, the AirPod mic will be used.
