Q: Another 10.4.2 bug?

Just recently we were discussing the 'file or volume is locked' issue. It was reproduced by users in this forum.

How about this: All of a sudden, out of the blue, Logic doesn't create take folders when cycle recording.

It happens in the middle of a session. Being doing a lot of take folders prior to that.

I go to File> Project Settings> Recording. And settings are stuck. Replacement only option.

Did this 8 time take of a chorus, just to find out that only the last take was there, Grrrrr!

Solution: Create a new project and start all over.

What do you think?

Thats likely because you have the replace icon up in the tool bar enabled. Just disable it

The problem addressed here happens randomly! Been doing a lot of takes, normal. Then 'replace' is normal, hmm?

This is how it looks. 'Replace' is disabled, but as you can se 'replace' is stuck.

NO you can't tell that from the picture - those checks only indicate if the icon should be visible in the tool bar. Put a check box next to replace and look up at the right of the disppay and confirm replace is toggled off. (The icon)

Thanks! Now I noticed, when replace icon is on in toolbar, settings are locked in 'project settings'.

(Didn't know that, as I didn't have the replace icon visible)

But question remains: How did/does Logic go from 'create take folder' to 'replace' by itself, in the middle of

a session. I've experienced this with two different projects so far. Am I by accident striking a key command, I don't know of? Or is it a bug like the 'File or Volume is locked' issue?

Now I know! (sorry mate!) It's all about key commands. I've been using Logic 9 (US numeric) key command setup for a many years (with a few add ons from Cubase and Pro Tools). Just recently I changed to Logic's current KC setup. In Logic 9, numeric slash is 'loop on/ off'. With Logic X it's 'Replace on/ off. There you go! So I, by accident, hit 'old' keys and ruined my own project!
