Sep 20, 2016 6:39 PM in response to Jaalwineby toebone7,I also took a call from an apple engineer to track the same issue, and installed a telephony profile for tracking. But just like you I haven't had the GPS/No service issue since installing the profile tracker!

Sep 21, 2016 3:33 AM in response to Jaalwineby cti_mgm,★HelpfulI have a fix! Turn off Voice over LTE.
Settings> Cellular> Cellular Data Options> Enable LTE> Data Only.
Voice over LTE (VoLTE) or Verizon HD Voice, is not available yet on all towers. When you have LTE set to 'Voice & Data' and the signal level drops to 1 bar, the iPhone 7 does an extensive search for a tower capable of VoLTE, and you lose GPS and get 'No Service' for 3-4 minutes until it finally gives up the search. Turn LTE to 'Data Only' and the phone does not drop cell or gps service. I confirmed this on my drive this morning. As soon as I went back and selected 'Voice & Data' the problem came back.
This problem has been driving me crazy and Apple is only offering the usual reset your phone and reinsert your SIM suggestions.
If you live in an area with a lot of VoLTE coverage, you are probably not experiencing this problem. Eventually they will fix this problem and you can enable 'Voice & Data.'

Sep 21, 2016 7:05 AM in response to Jaalwineby dsgrce,So I did the Factory Reset now as Apple asked, and it still happened (which I fully suspected it would). I'm going to be getting back on the phone with them today to see what else can be done. On another note, turning LTE off helps in most cases, but doesn't seem to prevent the issue 100% of the time. My Wife's phone still experienced the issue once with LTE off.
Steps taken thus far:
- Resetting Network Settings - No Effect
- Remote Diagnostics with Apple Support - No Issue shown to Apple
- Verizon Reset (thats what they called it, not really sure what they did on their side) - No Effect
- Turning off LTE - Mostly positive results
- Factory reset - No Effect
- Re-seat SIM Card - No Effect

Sep 21, 2016 10:04 AM in response to Jaalwineby portej007,Same exact issue. I'm on Verizon, with 256 GB iPhone 7 in Maine. First noticed on Saturday after setting up my iPhone from a backup of my iPhone 5s. I'm now keeping a precise log, have experienced 10 gps and cellular drops in the last two days, almost all are different locations, mostly along interstate highways where there's almost always very good cellular coverage, also areas where I've never had a problem with my previous iPhone 5s.
Have:
- updated carrier settings
- updated iOS to 10.0.1
- performed both "soft" and "hard" resets
None have helped.
Have talked with support but representatives want me to speak with my original representative. Very difficult with my schedule to get back to a specific rep. (WiFi calling also not working(?), and no cell signal inside work building).
I'd love to try to help resolve this issue if someone at Apple would like to contact me.

Sep 21, 2016 11:17 AM in response to Jaalwineby tcre,I spoke with Verizon wireless, they want to try a new sim card in my phone but I somehow don't think that will fix it. I usually lose service while using Waze for 10-15 minutes and then once i get it back its only 3G for a long time. ugh so annoying!!

Sep 21, 2016 11:36 AM in response to Jaalwineby clarkn,I'd like to add that I am now having this problem as well and it happens consistently on my drive to and from work. Most of the trip I have "No Service" with my Verizon iPhone 7, which certainly never happened with my 6S or my iPad one same route. I haven't had it happen anywhere else yet, but it's been has gone out the last three trips to/from home/work.

Sep 21, 2016 6:01 PM in response to Jaalwineby MisterSenior,Also having this issue. Got the iPhone 7, and using Apple Maps, Google Maps, or Waze, both GPS and the cell service cut out completely every 10-20 minutes. Never had this problem on the 6s. On Verizon as well. I've also noticed that I'm on 3G way more often in areas that used to have full LTE service.

Sep 21, 2016 6:11 PM in response to clarknby clarkn,Update: So I tried cti_mgm's suggestion of turning off LTE for Voice and I did not get No Service on my drive home today.
The change I made:
Settings> Cellular> Cellular Data Options> Enable LTE> Data Only.
That's an improvement at least for me until they release a fix.

Sep 21, 2016 6:47 PM in response to Jaalwineby oilsgirl,Same thing happening here. I drop LTE constantly as I drive around Phoenix. Go from 3G to 1X to No Service and back to LTE. It is incredibly annoying. Never any problem like this with my 6 - I was always on LTE unless in a huge building or something understandable. GPS drops periodically, too. I also have poor call quality (sort of a digitalization of voice, voice cutting in and out, etc.) when I've got full LTE service. What a mess. Hope there's a quick fix on the way.
On Verizon, iPhone 7, 256 GB

Sep 21, 2016 8:52 PM in response to Jaalwineby ericfromli,Verizon service on Long Island with the new iPhone 7+ is horrible. Goes from LTE -3G-1X-no service. The iPhone 6 didn't have these issues. I hope this gets fixed quickly.

Sep 22, 2016 4:43 AM in response to Jaalwineby dsgrce,So Verizon sent me a new SIM card to try. No change. I wasn't really going to try it until I got on the phone with Apple again and that was their next step too. Apparently its too hard for them to understand that this is happening to more than just my phone, which is really annoying. So now I get to call them back today and tell them that this didn't work either and that maybe its time to move beyond the normal steps they take.

- Resetting Network Settings - No Effect
- Remote Diagnostics with Apple Support - No Issue shown to Apple
