Q: IOS 10 on iPhone 6 bluetooth car issue

I installed IOS 10 and now my bluetooth connection in my car only holds for about a minute before disconnecting. This didn't happen under IOS 9, and I've tried everything i.e. resetting network connections, stopping and restarting bluetooth, deleting the pairing of the device on both the phone and car and even while I was able to go back to IOS 9.3.5. but unfortunately the only backup I had didn't work so I had to set up as a new phone. It worked fine under IOS 9 but setting up as a new phone was a real pain as I couldn't lay my hands on some of the login details for some of the main apps so decided I'd have to put up with IOS 10 and no car connection, but there must be an answer, the phone was fine before so it must be something in IOS 10.

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Hello Alastair UK,

I see from your post that you are having some problems connecting your iPhone 6 to your car stereo after updating to iOS 10. It is very convenient to have this access in the car, so I can see why you'd be reaching out for some help.

I know that you've already tried a few of the steps listed in this article, but take a look at this resource for additional information and steps to follow:

    Cheers!

Thanks joe_7399 but this article was my starting point so I have followed all those instructions. I have also wiped the phone and installed as a new phone as well as restoring from a backup, none of these things have worked. There is obviously some change in either the version or implementation of bluetooth in IOS 10 as the phone has worked happily both as a hands free device and an audio streaming device in my current car for the past year. It also worked fine with my previous car. I did as I said in my previous post take the phone back to IOS 9.3.5 and it worked but sadly a lot of other things didn't as unfortunately the only backup I had in that version must have been corrupted.

Not really sure what to do now, the car has the very latest version of the software available for it so I can't do anything with that, and it would seem if I went to the expense of upgrading to an iPhone 7 I would still have the same issue as it will have IOS 10 on it.
