Q: Game centre not working (iOS 9.

I Have been loggin into game centre for a while and just used it to play games across multiple devices (iPad & iPhone). I have never really accessed the "friends" section, so I don't know how long I have had the issue.

 

Yesterday I tried to add a friend, Who was in the same room as me (he also has not used this option before). We both opened game centre, and clicked on friend, and no recommendations appeared. We tried inviting manfully, and this did not work. We have both checked our settings and we are both set to 'allow invites' and to 'allow nearby'. We are also set to receive friend recommendations from 'contacts' and yet we still cannot link our game centre accounts.

 

We have tried using multiple devices, we have tried restarting devices. We have also tried loggin out and back into game centre, but still no joy. Anyone have any other suggestions?

iPhone 6s, iOS 9.3.5, Also on iPad

    I'm thinking it's tied to Apple removing the game center app from iOS10, and it seems to also affect it on non-iOS10 devices.


    The game center servers are still there, but the friending aspects are to be handled via the individual game apps and iMessage.

     

    The problem is, that support doesn't seem to exist yet....because individual games need to build it into their games.

     

    So if you're on iOS10, you can't friend via what's left of Game Center (in fact the only friend control that's left is to remove all friends), but people still on 9 or earlier seem to not have support either. Doesn't seem to be much players can do beyond wait for their games to do something about friending
