Q: update to 9.3.5 instead of iOS 10

If your iPad is ipad 3 or below you can update to 9.3.5

If it,s a newer iPad then you can only update to ios 10.1

Hi. I just put 10 on my iPad Air, and there seem to be no showstoppers. A few new wonders need to be turned off, but that's all. I don't think there's any way to control the OTA update. If you're prepared to use iTunes, you can find websites the give the Apple URLs various iOS versions; search for ipsw. You can download one and install it using iTunes. But you must do it while Apple is still signing 9.3.5. So 10 or iTunes are basically your only options.

I have an iPhone 6 Plus running 9.0.2 that I would like to upgrade to 9.3.5. Our company has not approved iOS 10 yet for internal use. The only option I have in iTunes is to upgrade to 10.0.1.

Is this still possible?

No. You can only update to whatever is currently available for your device. If your company doesn't approve 10, stay with 9.

Air is compatible with iOS 10. You only have 2 options, stick with what you have now or update to 10.0.1.

Should've updated to iOS 9.3.5 when it became available a few weeks ago because it corrected/patched a major security issue that was found in recent versions of iOS 9.3.x

You can certainly try Diana.McCall's suggestion, now, as Apple can stop signing on the last iOS 9 update at any time.

OR

As ShagCA has pointed out, you either need to keep what OS 9 version you have now or upgrade to iOS 10.

OP already mentioned they are using an iPad Air.

I don't think so. His replies are 100% identical, including caps, spaces and misspelled word ("it,s"). That can only be achieved by copying/pasting.

Apple only authorizes updating to the most recent version of the iOS that a device can run. In your case that is presently iOS 10.0.2. Since this is the case perhaps you can explain your problem so someone can help solve it.
