Sep 22, 2016 12:36 PM in response to rkaufmann87by DVCapture,Well. This is strange.
I plugged an old Blue Snowball USB microphone in and Siri is working fine.
And now the strange part.
When I select the internal mic with the Blue microphone plugged in...it works! As soon as I unplug the Blue mic Siri does not work. Go figure.

Sep 22, 2016 12:59 PM in response to rkaufmann87by DVCapture,Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately it did not fix. I can live with the mic plugged in actually, I use it for other purpose as well.
Cheers!

You can always call AppleCare and see what the issue may be or you can also post an EtreCheck report of your system. We can then look for obvious issues. Please click the link, download the app and run the report. Once you have the report, please copy and paste it to your reply to this post.If you would like more info on what EtreCheck is, simply click the link and you will find a description of the app.

Description:
I upgraded to mac OS Sierra. Siri works fine on my laptop but not on my desktop.
When I click on it I get the familiar ding but the audio waveform is flatlined and Siri is not working.
Both are on the same Wifi network.

Sep 22, 2016 1:39 PM in response to DVCaptureby rkaufmann87,Nothing obvious stands out with the exception of I don't see any evidence that you backup your computer. If you don't that a not a good idea, at some point you will lose either some or all of your data. At the very least you should be backing up using Time Machine.
