Q: MacBook Pro 2013 doesn't shutdown / freezes then black screen

Hi guys –

Shortly after (probably a few weeks) my upgrade to El Capitan, my MacBook Pro 2013 has started to behave very abnormally: each time I was about to shut it down, either by hitting Ctrl + Power or through the Apple Menu, the laptop froze.

By pressing the Power button for a number of seconds, the laptop would force shut down. When I hit the Power button, I no longer hear the 'chimes' and the laptop screen remains black. I could hardly hear the fans, but they are in operation.

The laptop turns back on again when I leave it for a day or two...

Any ideas what I could do to fix this?

Thanks!
