Q: apple watch to unlock macbook issue

Hello, I have a mid 2014 macbook pro. it is updated with most recent OS, apple watch also updated. I have 2 factor authentication turned on.

When I go into the macbook security it does not have the check box available for the apple watch unlock.

Any help would be great. I have followed all the directions for this to work but there is no option ( it is not there. It is not greyed out. it is just not there.)

MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014), iOS 10, apple watch IOS 3

Thanks I tried all that but I still don't have the menu item to check unlock with apple watch. I only have two check boxes. I even logged out of my iCloud account on my macbook and then I re logged in. really frustrating as I have gone through the steps multiple times and don't get the check box.

I Got it to work. I just rebooted everything and it worked. Thanks for the help
