Q: Notes 'float on top' is always greyed out.

Hi,

I used to be able to put a note on a separate window and then make it 'float on top'. However, since updating to OS X El Capitan 10.11.6, it has always been greyed out. Even on the full notes window, I can't make it float on top.

Is this a bug? Is it just my macbook? Or is there a way I can get the 'float on top' working again?

Thanks.

Patricia.

    Hi patsoup!

I understand you have a question about the "float on top" feature of the Notes app, and I'm happy to help. The way that feature works does appear to have changed.  Now, rather than tearing a note off to display it in a separate window, you can double-click the note's entry in the left-hand list of the Notes application. Once a note is in its own separate window, the 'Float on Top' menu item becomes accessible.

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

    Cheers!

    Hello Sterling,

I don't understand what you mean by no "tearing a note off", as I have always done the "double-click" to get the note on a separate window. I have inserted a picture to explain my point: - I have made it into a separate window, yet the float on top option is still greyed out.

I hope this helps clarify my problem. Thank you.
