Q: iBooks Author version 2.4.1 or 2.5

My iBooks Author "About" dialogue box says that it's version 2.4.1.  The MAS says that the most recent version is 2.5 but it doesn't show an update available.

I have NOT upgraded yet to Sierra, so it's possible that 2.5 is only available after updating, but I want to make sure that's the only issue.

SHOULD I be seeing an update from 2.4.1 to 2.5 from El Capitan?

MacBook Pro, OS X El Capitan (10.11.4), Processor 2.9 GHz Intel Core i7

    Hi,

That's an interesting question you posted. I am running Yosemite and, upon checking updates in the Mac App Store app, it does not offer me an update for iBA. I have been using version 2.4.1.

For what it's worth, I don't plan on upgrading to El Capitan and probably won't install Sierra on this hard drive.

Please let us know what you found and how you proceeded. I am interested in any version updates for iBA.

    Thanks!

FYI: I use El Capitan 10.11.6 and received yesterday sep 21, 2016 the update for iBA v2.5.

Thanks to both of you! I just checked again and there's no offer for iBA 2.5 on my Yosemite-based Mac. It looks like I'll have to make a decision soon ;-)

The bizarre thing is that I DID BRIEFLY SEE the update prompt to iBA 2.5.  I clicked the button to run it, but nothing really seemed to happen and the program still shows it's 2.4.1.  I tried to check for updates again and nothing showed up.

That's what prompted me to look into the most current version to begin with.

    It's bizarre.

Maybe something went wrong during the update process. Workaround: Because iBA is free, you could try downloading version 2.5 from the App Store. Then your system will probably be up-to-date again, knowing what version is installed on your system and future updates will be successfull again.
