Go to settings on ipad - iCloud back up now after backup
Settings restore now back to factory settings
If you need to go to a friends house with a good wifi speed to do restore
When setting up use backup when it asks use iCloud backup to get your
Apps & data back.

Sep 23, 2016 9:19 AM in response to Seamus53by Diana.McCall,Hi. Before resetting to factory, try Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. And restart the iPad, hold Sleep and Home buttons until you see the Apple. Restarting the router wouldn't hurt also. You said it can see the network. What happens why you try to enter the password?

Sep 23, 2016 10:00 AM in response to Diana.McCallby Seamus53,Hi,
Thanks
Already reset network settings, and rebooted the router. iPad searches for router and identifies, password accepted, but continuously recycles search and identify.
There are other devices working fine, computer, phones, etc. iPad works with my phone's hotspot. Worked last night, didn't this morning.

Sep 23, 2016 11:09 AM in response to Briansyddallby Seamus53,I've gone to the AirPort Utility on the iPad and found that although the AirPort Extreme router) is identified, the internet connection is not made. However on all my other devices, the Utility shows a connection. For some reason the router is perhaps blocking the iPad from connecting to the internet.

Sep 23, 2016 11:26 AM in response to Seamus53by Diana.McCall,OK. Does the iPad get an IP address in the info panel for the network? Or is the connection simply rejected, so it searches for other networks to connect to? If it's the latter, your router may have implemented access control, so only certain devices can connect. You can check for this in the router settings. I assume you are not using a static IP address for the iPad.
