Q: Podcast feed not validating with iTunes anymore
My podcast feed is http://www.debozarko.com/feed/podcast/. It's been working fine for the duration of my podcast since 2013.
I’ve been using the Powerpress plugin since the beginning with no issues. For some reason however, the iTunes store is not picking up my latest episode (#110). The feed validates on Feed Validator, but when I check it in iTunes Connect, the status is “Failed Validation.” This explains why it is not showing in the store but I’m stumped as to what could be wrong.
I’ve uploaded a fresh recording and added the new download link to my blog on two occasions, but still the same error.
Any help is appreciated.

Hi Ozzie,
Would you share with others what you fixed in your iTunes Summary? Apple notes the Summary should not contain HTML.
Short answer on your error:
- Your website reports an error when people request the URL: http://debozarko.com/feed/podcast/. I tested this at http://castfeedvalidator.com/.
- Adding "www" fixes the error: http://debozarko.com/feed/podcast/
- Solution: Update your RSS feed URL to use "www", or contact your web host for help.
Long answer:
Subscribing to your podcast in iTunes connects me to this URL:
http://debozarko.com/feed/podcast/
(Click subscribe, then in My Podcasts right-click your podcast > copy Podcast URL. Paste in a text file to see the URL)
Using the above URL, your server responds with "HTTP/1.1 500 Internal Server Error" when tested here:
http://castfeedvalidator.com/?url=http://debozarko.com/feed/podcast/
Result:
Error resolving feed address.
HTTP/1.1 500 Internal Server Error
http://debozarko.com/feed/podcast/
Unable to do basic feed validation...(http://debozarko.com/feed/podcast/)
Using "WWW" seems to fix the problem:
http://castfeedvalidator.com/?url=http://www.debozarko.com/feed/podcast/
Result:
Basic Feed Validation OK...
Hope that helps!
