Q: The procedure entry point CMTimeConvertScale could not be located in the dynamic link library CoreMedia.dll

I get this message while trying to open ITune on my desktop.  I click "ok" and then get another message:  ITunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall ITunes.  Error 7 (Windows error 127).

I downloaded and installed ITunes and still get these messages.

iPod nano (5th generation), Windows 7

Entry point errors can usually be fixed by deleting the offending dll, then repairing the component it is part of from the programs and features control panel. CoreMedia.dll is part of Apple Application Support and can normally be found in

    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support    or

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support.

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.

The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.

Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

I had the same prob.. And I have spent the majority of the day today trying everything I could find on here and the thing that finally worked for me was going here Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates and I uninstalled all the apple components in the order that they listed.. and I had two apple components still listed that weren't listed on the list in the instructions.. I had a voice over kit and iphone configuration utility so i uninstalled those as well so that any component made by apple inc. was uninstalled.. Then I rebooted like they said and checked for any apple related folders in the program files like they said.. There wasn't any to delete.. then I chose the current itunes installer for my 32 bit pc running windows vista from the list on this page https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-6562#reinstall .. And once it was downloaded I went to the folder it was downloaded to and right clicked on it and clicked on run as administrator and now I FINALLY have itunes on my pc again YAAAAY!!!!! It opened up as soon as I clicked on finish and there was all my music already uploaded WHOOOHOOO!!!
