Q: Draw a circle for annotation
Hello,
I'm looking for a way to do this in FCP X or Motion. I can with Keynote however, but I wondering if I can also do this instantly on FCP X or Motion (with circle or rectangle). Click on my .gif video to see what I'm trying to do.
Thanks.

Ripple Callouts are great.
Doing it in Motion is rather easy, and an opportunity to learn a few things.
To do a very basic version of this takes just a few minutes.
1) Open Motion and create a new "Final Cut Generator"
2) Select the Circle tool.
You may want to hold down shift and option to draw a perfect circle dragging from the center out (the shift forces a circle instead of ellipse and option starts from the center rather than a corner).
In the Inspector, click Shape and uncheck the Fill button.
3) With the circle selected, click the behaviors button and choose Shape->Write On. Adjust the duration. For example, you may have something like this on the timeline to ensure that the circle stays on after it is finished drawing.
4) This should already give you a start, but in order to get a more decent generator, it is time to Publish a few parameters, so they can then be changed at will in FCP X. A few are obvious, such as the color of the circle; but also, you should publish the position and scale, and the direction of the write on.
For even more fun, you may even create a rig and, .... well the sky is the limit, but baby steps is a good approach (I'm more or less a toddler in this regard myself!)
