Q: Windows 7 on macOS Sierra

I have ElCap installed + win7 bootcamp, I know that it's supposed to keep working after I upgrade to Sierra (that doesn't offer win7 install on bootcamp, only win10). But, what if something goes wrong with win7 partition (like if I get a virus and decide to wipe it)? Are there ways to reinstall windows on existing bootcamp partition? Or maybe force an install using winclone method?

MacBook Air, OS X El Capitan (10.11.6)

You can restore Winclone backups. What year/model is your Mac?

Air 13 2013. I tried to do it once and got an error. Maybe I just forgot to disable SIP though.

Winclone fails if SIP is enabled. Please retest with SIP disabled and report any issues.

Checked SIP, it was disabled. Guess I need a newer version of winclone, the one I have is 4.4.

I have Winclone 4.4, and have not seen any issues on El Capitan with SIP and restores. Can you check Applications -> Utilities -> Console and type 'winclone' in the top right search box and look at the messages?

El Capitan worked fine for me (used it on my iMac), but Sierra updated Air returned an error even with SIP disabled. So I rolled back to ElCap, created bootcamp, and updated to Sierra once again. Sorry, can't check it now, I wiped the drive clean before re-installing and don't have winclone on hand anymore.
