Q: Bluetooth connectivity problem with Oticon hearing aids and IOS 10.

I use the Oticon Streamer Pro 1.3 to connect my hearing aids to my iPhone 6 Plus via bluetooth.  With the IOS 10 update the Streamer Pro keeps disconnecting, reconnecting, and disconnecting.  I have tried forgetting the device and pairing it again with the iPhone.

    Hi Dick

I have similar problems with my Starkey hearing aids.  ios 10 broke the bluetooth.  I've worked extensively with Apple, it's broke, no fix until next update.  By the way 10.0.2 is not the fix

I am on my way this morning to purchase the Oticon OPN or the Resound Linx2 hearing aids, but this makes me very wary of doing so.  How long does it usually take for Apple to correct this problem?  I'm wondering if it is all too much trouble to have the bluetooth function at all.  I had tried the Resound Linx1 about a year and a half ago, and connectivity issues was one reason I returned them.  It was very frustrating to say the least.  So, without the bluetooth function, I assume you get along ok, but it must be very frustrating when you are used to adjusting your hearing aids on your phone, etc., especially when you've paid extra for the function.  Apple...I hope you're reading this so a fix will happen as soon as possible for all those who depend on you for their hearing.

Yea, no doubt Apple will fix it.  There are too many other devices not working for them to ignore this issue.  I just hope they don't hold it back too long waiting for other fixes to add to it.  As for getting new hearing aids now, I would wait unless you are going through a free trial.  If the fix doesn't come for two weeks, you may only have another two weeks to get them running under bluetooth, before the doc has to pay for them.  Hearing aid companies usually give audiologists 4-5 weeks for trial.

Just spoke with the audiologist.  She said normally when there's an IOS update program for the hearing aids will default into "demo mode".  She said she instructs her patients how to go in and take it out of demo mode and everything works fine.  I would be curious to know if that helps your situation.  Thanks.
