If not, can you see the status bar of the phone in iTunes on your Mac when your phone is connected and all the different sections, for example Music, Apps, etc. ? Or does it only say "Other"?
In case there is only one "Other"section, this would be a sign of damaged data and you'll have to restore the phone.
