Q: iOS 9.3 Siri mispronouncing names/reading emojis?

I updated to 9.3 last night (and am now regretting it).

I use Siri frequently, and also have a unique, difficult to pronounce name. In my old iOS version, I had told Siri how to pronounce my name without issue. Now with the update, she is calling me the incorrect name (mispronouncing) as well as reading any emojis I have in the contacts name, whenever I ask her to call/text them.  Example, my sister is in my phone as Lexi with the cat and dog emoji after her name, now Siri calls her 'Lexi Cat Face Dog Face". Also, when I tell Siri 'That's not how you say that', then tell her how to pronounce it. She gives me two options, but both of them are exactly the same, and both wrong. This was never an issue before, so what gives?

iPhone 6, iOS 9.3

LOL. I have a red heart next to my wife's name, so now she says "Louanna Red Heart..." which, in Siri's Australian accent, actually sounds like "Louanna Red Hot...", which is admittedly much much preferable to "dog face". Still, it would be nice if I could tell Siri to ignore the emojis.

I suppose they added in the feature for Siri to read the emojis aloud so that you could hear them when speaking aloud emails and texts. Still, I'd like it turn it off when in contacts, as I also use emojis for descriptive, sentimental and quick identification purposes.

I FIGURED IT OUT!! After months of scouring the web for clues, HERE IS THE ANSWER:

If you have a Contact that includes Emojis in the name field, then go to that Contact and click Edit in the upper right. Then, scroll to the bottom of that contact page and choose add field. Choose the one that says Pronunciation First Name (or Last Name, as appropriate for your scenario). In that new field, you'll spell your Contact's name how it sounds. Some examples: For "<3 Rachel" use Ray Chell, for "Gary <3" use Garry or Gair Ee, for "Tom <3" use Tomm or Tawm. You basically just have to spell it differently in the Pronunciation fields for Siri to recognize that there's something special. You can't just put the Contact's name without Emojis in the Pronunciation fields and hope for the best. You have to make the name have a different spelling.
