Q: who triggered the find my iphone app?

recently a lot of our devices were hacked,my ipad was not damaged or data stolen. No one accessed my account. My ipad never left my house. I did not trigger the find my iphone app. I didnt even use icloud as had long forgotten my id for it. How ever I have all the correct user details all the correct passwords and have manged to work out my icloud user ids. But still cant get my ipad unlocked because apple put an activation lock. Everytime i tried to undo it with my security questions it ask for my date of birth but the web browser on lets you enter dd/mm but not yyyy so how can i possibly unlock with questions, and the email address associated for recovery doesnt exist anymore.

An apple care employee said i have to have my p.o.p. for them to do anything and this is a joke because i bought it cash and the retailer doesnt keep records of cash transactions that for back.

Why should i lose my ipad even though i have done absolutely nothing wrong.

Please someone tell me there is a way to solve this.

I have been trying to sort this out for months.

How can i find out when and where the find my ipad app was triggered?

iPad mini 2 Wi-Fi, iOS 9.3.4

Unfortunately there's not easy way to resolve what you describe.  As the Apple employee mentioned, you will have to provide proof of purchase to remove the Activation Lock (it's a security measure to ensure the right person is asking for its removal).

I'm not really sure what else there is to say or contribute on this issue.  Sorry.

But still cant get my ipad unlocked because apple put an activation lock.

If you even signed in to iCloud once, that is likely how you put the activation lock in place. Apple has no ability to place an activation lock on a device as the activation lock consists of your Apple ID and password, which Apple does not have..

security questions it ask for my date of birth but the web browser on lets you enter dd/mm but not yyyy so how can i possibly unlock with questions, and the email address associated for recovery doesnt exist anymore.

You can contact Apple Support for help with resetting your password. There are more options than the website.
