Q: iPod not syncing with iTunes library

When I to sync the iPod Touch with iTunes via USB on my MacBook Air, only a few songs are showing up on the iPod. The vast majority of playlists are empty, even though I have them full of songs.

I tried resetting the iPod, signing in and out on both the iPod and iTunes, nada. When I click the box to manually manage my music, hit Sync, hit Apply, the box for manually managing my music gets unchecked.

Can anyone help me troubleshoot this, please?

Thanks for any help.

    Hi Chris Milligan,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!

From your post, it sounds like you would like to sync music from your computer’s iTunes library to your iPod touch, but no content seems to be syncing.

If the above is correct, we should be able to help you sync this content. The following article has a basic rundown on syncing.

Sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iTunes on your computer using USB - Apple Support

Looking at the image under step 5 in the previous article, is your iTunes selected to sync “Entire music library” or “Selected playlists, artists, albums, and genres”?

We suggest you select “Selected playlists, artists, albums, and genres”. At this point you will be given the opportunity to choose what content you would like on your iPod. After making all of your choices, select “Apply” in the bottom right corner of iTunes and the music will be synced to your iPod touch.

    Cheers!
