Q: Since macos sierra my isight FireWire doesn´t work with Facetime

Does the iSight camera show up in About This Mac -> System Report -> Firewire ? What is the year/model of your Mac?

Can you run the following two procedures and then check if FaceTime will recognize the iSIght?

Can you use How to install OS X on an external drive connected to your Mac - Apple Support to install El Capitan on an external disk and check if the iSight works?

Same problem here but with an LG AN-VC300 webcam and mac mini who was ok on El Capitan.

Since Sierra update, no way... camera is available in system report (USB component) but Facetime, photobooth and Skype doesn't see it.

Seems to be like an old problem with "AppleCamera.plugin" no ?

I will try to get the El capitan version of this and put it in my fresh install of Sierra.

I will give you a report.

I have a similar issues with a Logitech C910 USB Webcam also on a Mac Mini late 2012. All worked fine on El Capitan but after upgrade to Sierra Just shows up as "Unknown USB Audio Device" in FaceTime Video menu, Although video and Mic work I'm unable to calibrate or adjust settings for them.

Facetime (on El Capitan 3.0 (2701)) works with my external iSight. But v 3.0 (3067) does not work on Sierra. Tested copying build 2701 to Sierra, but it produces a crash dump.

The error in the Console is inconclusive.

The lower resolution of iSight (640x480) is a factor with newer Macs sporting 720p cameras.

Mac OS Sierra on Mac mini Late 2012 . iSight connected thru Firewire adaptor 400 to 800. iSight works ( Video and audio ) with Skype. It was working with Yosemite. Now it works on FaceTime only in audio.

About This Mac ( now do not show the date ? ) in System Report, under FireWire,  iSight camera appears with all its information.

This should be a FaceTime problem in recognizing iSight video.

Lets wait for an update. I hope....

I have the same problem. Ishigt camera, Mac mini 2012, MacOS Sierra. It does not work with Facetime. It works with Photo Booth and Quick Time. Someone with advanced knowledge that can be solved using the Terminal application?
