Q: Help with Activation Lock and deleted Appleid

I lost my iphone 6 about a year ago.  Since that time, I moved to a different company and deleted that appleid.  The phone has just been returned to me and is on the Activation Lock screen.  The appleid to unlock has been deleted, so I can't login to activate.  I have the same phone number so if there is a way to get a code texted to my new phone, I could do that.  What do I do?

You cannot 'delete' an AppleID. If the iPhone is asking for

your old AppleID, you can recover it and password if needed

    here:

If the iPhone is asking for a different AppleID (that was installed

while the iPhone was not in your possession), only the person

who initiated that Activation Lock can remove it. If you were the

original purchaser of the iPhone new from Apple or an Apple authorized

iPhone retailer and can prove that purchase with a receipt showing the

serial number of the iPhone, take that proof of purchase and the iPhone

to the nearest Apple store where they may assist you. Make a Genius

    Bar appointment to avoid delay.

    Hi there, Jamie Walpole!

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities! It sounds like you are having issues with your Apple ID.  I know how important it is to be sure you are able to activate the iPhone. The good news is an Apple ID is not deleted usually, so what you can do is go to the article with help: If you forgot your Apple ID. At the bottom of the article are steps to contact Apple if you are not able to recall the email address associated with your Apple ID and they will be happy to help you get access to the iPhone again.

    Have a great day!
