Sep 21, 2016 6:12 PM in response to jjkrawby Tony smeT,jjkraw, I have exactly the same as what you describe in #2. Artwork from songs/albums bought via iTunes still have the artwork, all the others don't. Every single song from every album I ripped in alac has artwork, it shows in iTunes and other software but not in the iOS music app. If I uncheck an album, sync, recheck the album and sync I have the artwork back. But there's just too many that I stop after A & B. I'm not going to do this to Z, monkey job

Sep 22, 2016 6:40 PM in response to antmeyerxby Stephen0214,I had the same problem, but I was able to get back all of my Album Art ... Here's how I did it
Sync your iPhone with iTunes ....
Go to you Phone Summary page, and then go to Music ...
Remove the "Check Mark" next to Sync Music, and then perform another sync ...
This will remove all of the Music from your phone.
(I don't know if it's necessary, but I ejected the Phone, and did a shutdown/restart on the iPhone)
Afterwards, I replaced the "Check Mark" to Sync Music and re-synced the Phone.
It took a little while to copy my 6800+ songs, but everything was back with ALL of the Album Art!
Hopes this helps!!!! ...

Sep 23, 2016 3:38 AM in response to Jaysephby Desmag,Yes, a bit annoying but it seems to do the trick. What I realized though, is that you can add the artwork to all songs of a certain album at once: you just select all the songs to which you want to add a specific cover and then "get info", add art cover and all.

This was on my "to try" list and I finally had the time to do it today. It appears to have worked for the album artwork. The issue with the artist icons is still there, but I think that's a matter of Apple filling in the blanks (or putting it back to using one of the albums again).
For just over 10,000 songs it took about two hours of syncing, mostly on the second sync (writing the songs and artwork back to the phone). That also seemed to clear out a little bit of space.

Sep 23, 2016 12:35 PM in response to antmeyerxby antmeyerx,Could probably just delete this post by now since no one seems to understand its apple music im having problems with therefore there is no downloads or music option in my sync that would resolve anything.... its an apple music thing at this point for the artist icons

Sep 25, 2016 3:43 AM in response to Stephen0214by SWW33,Yep this was the only way that Ive found to fix the problem to - basically wipe it and re-sync the entire library again. Took four long hours, very frustrating to have to do this, come on Apple, we expect better !
I will say also that although all my album artwork seems to be in place, there are still loads of band images missing but not sure where these come from ??

My suspicion is that Apple supplies them because, of the ones that I have, they have no connection to any of the artwork from the albums / songs.

Sep 25, 2016 8:55 AM in response to jjkrawby Tony smeT,Same thing here, after reinstalling every single album of the 9000+ songs collection all artwork is there again. So there was nothing wrong with our files.
And if Apple has to feed us all the artist images it's always going to be a fail, because I have ripped cd's of artists that will never be in itunes! :-( -
Sep 28, 2016 3:22 PM in response to jjkrawby tigerphoenixsing,HI jjkraw,
I have almost exactly your issue on an iPhone 7 (256GB) running iOS 10.0.2.
I am disabled, mainly bed bound, and the iPhone is the ideal device for my needs. It is used for everything from research and communication to streaming TV, movies and music.
This is why I have the largest capacity iPhone, to enable 22,000+ songs, then movies, 12Gb of research related photographs etc to be kept close to hand.
I use the album art as an important visual cue. I am seldom able to get to a computer to perform a manual sync, so wireless/cloud syncs and back ups are very important to me.
Looking back at the first post here, it's not really OCD of us to want our album covers here. That phrase shows my age, but that is what they are. The album artwork is an important part of the experience. If it has been purchased as CD or online, it should be there if the iOS claims to function to that extent, which it has for a long time.
jjkraw; not all of my iTunes Store purchased artwork is showing, that is how my experience differs slightly from yours.
Should I report too?
All best regards
T

Oct 4, 2016 12:42 PM in response to antmeyerxby jjwenotme,Hey guys,
Simple bypass is if you delete the songs that aren't showing their artwork on your iPhone off of it. Then make sure the album work is added to the album or song itself on your iTunes library. Its been bugging me for weeks too but I just did that and it fixed the issue

Oct 4, 2016 1:02 PM in response to antmeyerxby JustinGGoodwin,I'm in the same boat. I by a lot of vinyl records that come with a digital download. When I put those downloads into iTunes, the album artwork goes on the album there, but when it syncs with iCloud Music, the album artwork is blank. Suuuuuper annoying. I just bought two albums from the iTunes store and their album artwork showed up fine on my phone. There is definitely something wrong with non-iTunes purchases not getting album artwork.
Allow us to download the artwork from our phones or other iOS devices --- PROBLEM SOLVED.

Oct 4, 2016 2:07 PM in response to jjwenotmeby Tony smeT,Simple bypass? Not if you hand picked 9000+ songs in I don't know how many albums. Extra detail: I ripped everything in alac, and to have more space on the phone I convert them to 256kbps aac. Took me days to set this straight.
And with the headphone jack gone to make room for a vibrator, I'm really not sure that my next phone will be from Apple... :-(
iTunes is a disaster too lately! Have a look at Swinsian Apple, watch & learn. Like you did from Vox when I look at the new layout in the Music app.
