Sep 25, 2016 8:52 AM in response to micahlontocby Niel,Restore it from a backup, or reinstall the OS. Depending on your OS, it's done by restarting with the Command and R keys held down or connecting an installation thumbdrive/DVD and pressing C or Option at startup.

2. A reinstallation won't restore the old files in that folder; it installs fresh ones. Files outside it will remain as is unless a problem occurs.

My mac has a really serious problem right now. I just did what you said but it didn't turn out the way it was supposed to be.
