Q: Apple TV 4 Gen/NFL App/Game Pass Crashes, Running osTV 10

Hello,

Does anyone has the same problem or know how to solve it? Or is a problem of my new apple Tv.

Ive purchased yesterday my AppleTV 4th Gen and download the NFL App to watch todays game in Game Pass. It didnt  work very well, I could watch the game like for 10 minutes and then it shut down by itself, and so every time I watch it. It was not a problem with my internet connection, because it was connected via Ethernet and my old apple TV running on WiFi at the same time didn't have any problems streaming the game. It didnt crash

Just because you didn't have an issue with another device doesn't mean there isn't a problem with your network.

Try using the Apple TV with different apps/content and determine whether the problem is NFL or your network, if it's NFK then ...

Try deleting it and re-installing the problematic app. There are 2 methods of deleting an app.

Select the app on the main screen and press and hold the touchpad until the app icon wobbles. Press the play/pause button and choose delete from the menu that appears.

Navigate to Settings > General > Usage > Manage Storage, scroll and select the the trash can to the right of the problematic app and choose delete from the menu that appears.

I’m not really sure if there is any difference between the two methods but there have been some suggestions that the wobble method has resulted in some app data being left behind and ultimately causing an issue when the app is re-installed.

To re-install an app navigate to the App store > purchased, scroll down and select the app and then navigate to and select the install option.

If that doesn't help contact the App developer.

If you determine it to be your network, you might want to do some troubleshooting on your network...

For me, there's no problem watching NFL Network or the Red Zone Channel ... but when I try to watch a single game, i get kicked back to the game highlight/stream site after a few minutes and have to restart the stream. Observing this since the latest tvOS update.

just received an answer from NFL Digital Care:

Thank you for reaching out to NFL Digital Care regarding being kicked out of live streams on Apple TV.

We are aware of and working to resolve this issue, which we now believe to be isolated to users of ATV who've updated to tvOS10. We expect a resolution in the coming week.

We are also aware of an issue wherein some users are seeing a "broadcast restrictions" message in a location that should not be blacked out. We apologize for the inconvenience, are working to resolve, and thank you for your patience at this time.

If the current Apple TV experience is not tenable, please use Game Pass on another device.
