Aug 6, 2012 2:46 AM in response to THUDPUCK01by Roger Wilmut1,As said, MobileMe has been terminated since 1 July. If you migrated your account to iCloud before that you can set it up on your Lion Mac or your iOS device by signing in to the iCloud preference pane with your ex-MobileMe address.
You say MobileMe 'works fine' on your G5 - as it has been terminated it can't be, and G5s cannot access iCloud anyway, so what exactly do you have working?

Sep 23, 2012 1:57 PM in response to Roger Wilmut1by Lizzilizard,Apparently I had set up a mobile me account last year and then thought I had deleted it...but in the meantime last month I wanted to sync all my devices,PC(using Outlook 10/windows7/earthlink server0, ipad 3rd gen and iphone 4.Contacted Earthlink to help resolve problem of having lost password for mobile me account which still shows up in my accounts....They opened anew earthlink account, but my calendar doesnt show up in the new account, but in the old one and mobile.me account keeps popping up asking for a password that I don't have. The pop-up keeps blocking the calendar on my pc..This is **** because I have to go to two different earthlink accounts and I am still not able to see the calendar which is receiving all the new appointments! I just don't know what to do with this old mobile.me account..I don't want to lose my stuff.....

Sep 23, 2012 3:19 PM in response to Lizzilizardby Roger Wilmut1,You need to sign out of MobileMe in your Control Panel and absolutely anywhere else you are signed in. You will only get error messages if you are signed in - MobileMe is dead, and no connection to it is possible. Any files or data you may have had on it are deleted as of 1 August, so anything you have anywhere now is not dependent on MobileMe: unless you migrated to iCloud before then, though from what you say I doubt this is the case.
Any syncing of calendars is nothing whatever to do with MobileMe and is between Outlook and your syncing method - Earthlink? iTunes? - and Earthlink wouldn't be related to MobileMe in any way.
You do however have an Apple ID in the form of your @me.com address and you can go to http://appleid.apple.com , click 'Reset password', sign in with your @me.com address and follow the instructions.

May 21, 2015 4:11 AM in response to Lizzilizardby Nav99,Hello
Did you fix it??
I have a similar problem. My mobile me address has been working perfectly for the last 5 years. For some reason this morning Mac Mail is asking me for the password to send an email via the SMTP on that account. I cannot for the life of me remember what the password was for the mail server that I put in Mac Mail. It's not the same as my Apple ID password. I used the link Roger posted and changed my Apple ID password and it's ok, and both mt @me.com and @icloud.com are working fine. HOWEVER, when I actually use Mac Mail the password mail server is not the same as the Apple ID account and I cannot remember what it is... How do you reset the password on the @me.com / @icloud.com server account in Mac Mail.
Please help asap, I have important mail to arrive and send on this account today.... Thanks!!!

Sep 25, 2016 12:45 PM in response to THUDPUCK01by MeisterFritz,Although MobileMe no longer exists, it is still relevant. I had a MobileMe account and when it was folding, it was strongly suggested that the MobileMe account be the one converted to the iCloud account. In truth, .me, .mac, and .iCloud are the same. Many of us used two accounts: one for MobileMe and one for the iTunes store. Such was my case. And, many of us asked Apple to consolidate accounts which would make logical sense, but never came to fruition. In fact, Apple stated that it would NEVER combine the accounts. So that's your history lesson.
If you did not convert your MobileMe into an iCloud account, then it's probably lost for good. If you did then Apple forced a change in passwords to me it more secure. Thus, if your password was short, Apple required a password with more characters.
