The image is not very large even when I click on it (that usually enlarges a image) but my first impression is that it was some type of pressure damage. At some point the display panel got squeezed/pinched at that location, causing permanent damage.

"Where can I get..." questions here are best served if you give us a rough idea of where in the world you are. These are truly international forums and it does you no good if someone recommends a source vendor who cannot ship to where you live.

Regardless, we can help you look but need to know the sub-model and the screen size measured diagonally. You can get the sub-model by doing "About this Mac" from the Apple menu and, in the resulting window, click the "More Info..." button. That opens System Profiler and, in the opening screen, you will see "Hardware Overview." The second line has a code (note the red arrow I added):

Sys Profiler Main for intel iMac.png

Your code will take the form  "PowerMacX,X" not "iMac" as in the example due to model differences but that is what we need to accurately identify your sub-model

That said, understand that series of iMacs was discontinued more than 12 years ago so the chance of finding new parts are tiny. It would likely be cheaper to buy another used iMac and salvage the screen. That way you are not paying for someone else to remove the screen assembly.
