Q: App Store doesn't show all software updates it should.

Hi, I upgraded OS X from 10.6 to 10.9. I then was able to make 3 software updates: two security updates and Safari 9.1.3.

After a few days, I decided to erase my HD and install Mavericks again from scratch. Installation was successful and everything works fine, except that now, App Store won't show me but one security update. Safari update 9.1.3 doesn't show in the updates list, so I'm stuck with Safari 7. This is one update I know it's missing, but I'm also worried about other possible updates I don't know about.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you.

Safari is only updated to another version when you upgrade OS X. The exception being Safari previews or required updates to fix serious issues with the current version. You are now using a version of OS X that does not support the upgrade nor any updates for that upgrade.

If you wish to have the most current system, then upgrade to Sierra.

Thanks for your answer. I understand what you mean. The thing is, last week I was able to update Safari to 9.1.3 on my MacBook with Mavericks. Now I  can't. I also have Safari 9.1.3 on my iMac with Mavericks.

So Safari 9.1.3 is compatible with Mavericks, but App Store doesn't let me update for some reason.

If you already have a copy on your drive, then be sure to put it in the Trash before trying to download it again. If you have already downloaded it via your Apple ID, the to download it again requires that you do so from your Purchases page in App Store.
