Q: No signal iPhone 7 plus

I Was able to find an iPhone 7 plus black, worked well all day went to sleep and next morning no cell signal actual message was No Service.  Tried resetting network services, remove the SIM card, resetting the phone.  Tried same sim in another phone and it works.  Seems to be a similar,at issue to those with the airplane mode issue.  Now there is no stock of the phone I want and I'm stuck with a dead paper weigh.  Any ideas?

Just to follow up on this: I got a replacement phone yesterday and it seems the issue is now resolved. It seems like my first phone was just defective and getting a replacement is the only solution. Hope this helps.

Very similar issue with my 7+.  Was streaming video and it suddenly stopped, even though I had a solid 2 bars of LTE (AT&T). I toggled Airplane Mode thinking to cycle the cell connection.

After turning Airplane Mode off, I could only get "no service".  Googling showed this is an issue with some phones.

I tried swapping the SIM card with another phone. Nothing.

I tried resetting network settings. Nothing.

Went in to Apple Store at Polaris Mall at 10am and amazingly as I approached it found signal. 5 bars LTE!

I talked with the Apple folks there for a bit and we decided to see if held signal.

About 5 mins after leaving the mall it went back to 'No Service".

Went back to the mall at 3pm (all day with no service) and it stayed down.  Showed the people and they made an appointment for me. Since they couldn't text me they told me to come back in 30 mins.

In the car I watched ti go from 5 bars LTE to No Service a few times.

At my apt time we updated to 10.0.2 and they ordered me a new Jet Black 256gig iPhone in case the update didn't help. The whole time I was in the store (5 bars LTE) it worked fine. Could not get it to loose signal no matter what I tried. Multiple Airplane Mode toggles even worked fine. I left with fingers crossed.

About 5 mins from the mall, with signal around 2-3 bars LTE it started getting VERY slow downloading a new audio book from Audible. I fired up my 6+ and downloaded the same book.  6+ reported fewer bars of LTE but it caught up and passed the 7+ while downloading the book.

When I got to 2 bars LTE the 7+ stopped downloading all together. The 6+ has long since finished.  As I watched the 7+ trying to download it suddenly flipped to 'No Service' and there it has stayed. I suspect if got back to a 5 bar LTE area, it would come back.

I suspect the real issue has to do with the antenna in some way as the no service issue only comes up when I'm at 2 bars or lower. Also it seems very slow at anything under 5 bars LTE.

Hopefully the replacement arrives before too long. I've switched back to my 6+ since a phone that only works while under an antenna isn't terribly useful

Other than this, I love the 7+.

One other observation, when it did come back in the presence of strong LTE (5 bars) it does so very slowly. About 5-10 seconds of "searching".  When popping a sim card into my 6+ or toggling airplane mode it picks up signal almost instantly.

    Good to hear.

The apple store was unable to give me a time the replacement would be in. But did say they were running around 48 hours for replacement phones to show up.  But I have a jet black 256gig so we'll see.

Fingers crossed it shows up Monday!

Same issue for me too. Fails to maintain signal on 4g unless I do a restart and I'm missing calls too as it fails to reconnect to 3G network too (despite showing full 3G reception).

    I'm on Three in the U.K. with a 7Plus

Same here... I have a 7+ T-Mobile. My phone keeps switching from LTE to 4G to just "T-Mobile"... I contacted Apple support and did everything (Reset, remove sim, reset network settings, restore, etc.) and still haven't found a solution. I'm most likely going to return or exchange it at an Apple Store.

This bums me out. We've been waiting so long to get our hands on our new phones only to have them not work.

Direct from MacRumors forum member @Jimbo1mcm

"My steps to perform the "fix"

    1. on the phone, turn off LTE voice. leave it as data only
    2. turn off wifi calling under the phone settings menu (probably doesn't matter but did it anyways)
    3. log into your My Verizon account and turn off the HD Voice add on. (Manage products and apps > Manage your products) > click remove from account
    4. wait the specified 15-30 mins
    5. reset network settings on the phone
    6. once its time, go back into the account and add HD Voice back onto the account.
    7. turn on LTE Voice/Data again in the phone settings menu

Ok folks, it seemed to work for me tonight. Lets pray this is it!!!!"

I have the same problem. Verizon iPhone 7 Plus. I lose service and GPS multiple times during my commute. The phone suddenly says No Service and my GPS app says it is using my approximate location (since the GPS also drops out). It is very strange that this thread was marked as solved by a level one forum member who simply wrote "I have the same problem..." How do you mark the thread as unsolved? Also, I called apple care today and as of 9/26/2016 they are still "unaware" of this issue. I'm going to start a chat session with them and paste the link to this thread for them to read before I let them say anything else.

I had a conversation with an Apple senior adviser, and he instructed me to just bring it in to an Apple Store and either return or exchange or replcace it under warranty. Because this phone is still in the 14-day return window, I think I'm going to do the former.

I hope that this is an issue that can be resolved via software. I don't like having a brick for a phone!

Thanks, I will try that. The reason why I posted though was to add another voice to the forum hoping that if more people post and indicate they are having the issue then maybe apple will take notice and resolve the issue faster (without requiring everyone to do something like the manual fix mentioned above).

I am almost certain at this point that this is a software/carrier issue. My wife's iphone 7 is experiencing the exact same symptoms.  For the past few days I've been on the phone with AppleCare and Verizon technical support.  Apple technical support apparently has no idea about these issues.  Verizon technical support mentioned that there log is growing and  suggested for people to call technical support tier 2 and reference a ticket number.

Verizon wireless technical support tier 2 phone number 866-221-4096

    reference issue tracking number 102095-091716

As of yesterday Verizon said they are working with Apple engineers to resolve the issues.
