Q: How do I repair the Safari New Window Shortcut

Safari seems to have stopped responding to cmd-N for a new window ... instead it creates a new tab (! no comment !) I presume that this is some macOS bug.

The File menu wants 3 fingers just to create a new window ... yet another strange combination which I am sure has some strange Apple internal logic ... but does not seem to mention cmd-N ... new tab is still cmd-T ... as it should be.

What I want is simple ... how can I repair the cmd-N key to what it used to be ... new window, as it is in Finder.

Thanks.

    Delete com.apple.Safari.plist file and test.

        Empty the Trash.

        Quit all applications.

Hold the option key down and click the "Go" menu in the Finder menu bar.

Select "Library" from the drop down.

        Library > Preferences >  com.apple.Safari.plist

Right click on it and select "Move it to Trash".

        Close the Finder window.

        Restart.    Relaunch Safari.

If this doesn’t help, “Put Back” the com.apple.Safari.plist

Right click on  the Trash icon in the Dock and select “Open”.

Right click on the com.apple.Safari.plist and select “Put Back”.
