Q: unknown flexihubd process

Hello,

I've just upgraded to macOS Sierra. Ever since then, there has been a process every time my mac starts up called "flexihubd" that I have no idea of. I don't have any kind of FlexiHub Software installed or anything remotely similar to that. What is it and why is it on my Mac? How can I remove this process, since it hogs more than 120% of my CPU usage (i.e. I'd like to not have to consistently kill the process every time i use my mac)?

Thanks

    Hi there DustinKazi!

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities.  Thanks for bringing your question about the "flexihubd" startup process on your Mac.  I know I rely on my Mac to start up quickly, so it's my pleasure to assist you with removing this process.

FlexiHub is software that may have been installed at some point.  Since you don't see the app in your Applications folder, we can assume the app is no longer on your Mac.  However this is an app that leaves several files behind, even after being uninstalled.
    1. go to Finder and select Go from the menu and then Go To Folder...
    2. type in /Library/Startup Items

      1. remove any files that have the flexihub name or anything that seems related and drag them to the Desktop
    3. next check in /Library/LaunchDaemons and drag any related files to the Desktop
    4. finally check in /Library/LaunchAgents and drag related files to the Desktop
Keep in mind you won't find the actual app in these folders, but you should find the files that are telling the system when and how to start the app.  After you remove the files, restart your Mac to test that it's starting as expected.  Once you've verified that it's starting normally,  you can move those files to the Trash.

    Best wishes.
