Q: iMovie and Final Cut Pro X Crash after Sierra Upgrade

After installing Sierra I have can consistently crash iMovie and Final Cut Pro X when attempting to add video from the event browser to the project timeline. The second I try to drag the clip to the project it will close the app. Not the end of the world but frustrating since the only this I've seen as a fix was to upgrade iMovie to the version that I already have and didn't see anything about Final Cut Pro X at all.

Anyone else having this issue? Did you fix it?

Thanks,

Dave

    HI scringe,

I understand that after updating to macOS Sierra iMovie and Final Cut Pro crash when attempting certain actions. I know it's important for your software to work as expected, so I'm happy to help.

It sounds like you've gotten a good start on this issue by ensuring that iMovie is up to date. In addition to that, make sure Final Cut Pro is up to date as well. This article has more information on troubleshooting this issue:
