Q: Lost and Offline

A few days ago I lost my IPhone and so today I tried using the app Find My IPhone. The app said that all of my devices are offline but it doesn't give me a device so that I can have it make a sound or anything, which is something I was hoping for because my phone was dead when I lost it. It also doesn't tell me the last time it was online which could be a good thing considering that that might mean my phone may have not been on for the last 24 hours, hence their being a better chance of it being lost in my house rather than stolen. My problem is that I am unable to put my phone on Lost Mode because of it being unable to track, is there an alternative?

There is nothing you can do. If your phone was dead when you lost it then it cannot possible connect to the internet. Everything that find my iPhone offers relies upon the device being powered on, and with an active internet connection (wifi or cellular). Otherwise, it and Apple's servers have no way of communicating with each other.

Last know location is only shown for 24hrs. If the device does not reconnect and send updated information before that time, then iCloud simply reports it as offline. When a device is offline, there is no way to interact with it remotely at all.
