Q: Hebrew on iphone after upgrading to ios 10.0.2

Hello

after uograding my iphone 6s plus to ios 10.0.2 (it was fin on ios 10.0.1) the hebrew characters on all my apps (notes, imessage, whatsapp, etc...) do no align automaticaly to the right.

For example:

1. You open imassage

2. Switch to hebrew keyboard

3. Start typing and everything is aligned to the left

in order to fix this, you need to switch the k`eyboard to english and then back to hebrew, and then everything is aligned to the right.

REaly annoying bug!

p.s. on my iPad pro, this bug doesn't seem to apear with ios 10.0.2

    Hi, HaimInger!

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities. If I'm understanding from your post, when you try to utilize the Hebrew keyboard in various apps, it is not aligned properly. If you switch back to the English keyboard for a moment and then access the Hebrew one again, it fixes the issue, though. I definitely want to make sure all your keyboards work properly right away!

I've got some troubleshooting I can recommend. Before you begin, I suggest creating a backup of your iPhone following the instructions here: How to back up your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Once your backup is finished, follow the steps listed below, in order. Test after each step, stopping when the issue is fixed.

    1. Restart your iPhone, as directed here: Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

    2. Turn your Hebrew keyboard off, then back on in Settings > General > Keyboard > Keyboards by removing it (tap edit, tap the Delete button next to the keyboard you want to remove, tap Delete, then tap Done) and then adding it back: iPhone User Guide - Use international keyboards

    3. Reset your iPhone setting under Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings. This won’t remove any of your personal data (like contacts, pictures, Calendar events, etc) but it will revert customizable settings (wallpaper and screen brightness, alert sounds and ringtones, Date & Time settings) back to their factory defaults. It will also remove saved Wi-Fi networks and passwords, as well as any previously used APN or VPN settings. iPad User Guide - Reset iPhone settings

    4. Restore your iPhone to factory settings, following the steps in this article: Use iTunes on your Mac or PC to restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to factory settings

After the restore is complete, set your iPhone up as a new device (meaning without using the backup created earlier, at least temporarily in order to test for the issue to return). You can sign into iCloud, iMessage, FaceTime, and the iTunes and App Store with your Apple ID.

If the Hebrew keyboard works as expected, go ahead and restore your backup, as instructed here: Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from a backup

    Have a lovely day!

    Hello.

To my regret, I followed your procedure, ending up with the same exact situation.

After that I checked 2 things:

    1. First I upgraded my iphone to ios 10.1 beta 1 - same problem.

    2. I've checked with a few of my friends using ios10.0.2 on iphones 6s and 6s plus (8 different peopl). All of them have the same exact HEBREW keyboard problem. So I hope apple is not expecting each person in Israel to do your procedure, even if it did help.

THis is a BUG in ios10.0.2 and it apears also in ios 10.1 beta 1.

    Please fix this.

Thank you for the update, HaimInger!

If the issue with your Hebrew keyboard is still persistent after restoring your iPhone and setting it up as a new device (before restoring your backup), then the next thing I can recommend would be for you to reach out to Apple Support directly for additional help. You can do that here: Contact Apple Support

    Cheers!
