You should be able to. It's working fine for me on iOS 10.0.1.

Restart your iPhone then try again.

    1. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears.
    2. Drag the slider to turn your device completely off
    3. After the device turns off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button again until you see the Apple logo.

I have the same problem with iPhone 6 after upgrading to iOs 10.0.1 taking screen shots. I have switched off many times and switched on but the problem remains. The voice control appears, holding the Sleep/Wake button and pressing the start button instead of taking screen shot.

Did you try the procedure Carolyn outlined above?

    Works fine for me.

    Dear Sirs Hello Again,

Unfortunately after downloading of iOS 10.0.2 the same problem with screen shots remains. I got at the beginning two screen shots but after that when I tried again pushing and holding the Sleep/Wake button with the Start button the Voice Control appears again. I have switched of/switched the iPhone many times but nothing positive, the screen shots cannot be taken. I don´t know why this problem appeared after downloading iOS10.

I think apple must fix this problem with a up gradation of iOS, every iPhone 6 have a same problem after update the iOS 10.0.1.

Thay did not fix this problem In iOS 10.0.2

No, every iPhone 6 does not have this problem. My iPhone 6 does not have this problem. The iPhone 6 phones my co-workers have do not have this problem.

My iPhone 6 does not have this problem. I can press and release both buttons at the same time and it takes a screenshot. I can also press and hold the SLEEP button, then press and release the HOME button (which has always been the correct way to take screen shots, as it eliminates any "race" conditions regarding which button you pressed first) and it also takes a screenshot every time.

There is nothing for Apple to fix in iOS 10.anything. However, if you take your phone to an Apple store they may be able to fix your phone. Or teach you the correct way to take screen shots.
