Q: I'm going to buy iPhone 6s or iphone7 in Japan is it also usable when I come back to M'sia?

Can anyone tell me that after I bought the phone from Japan I still need to unlock it or I can use straightly when I come back to Malaysia? If need to unlock anyone can suggest some good way?

Carriers lock phones.  Only carriers can unlock them.  Contact your carrier.  Historically, Japanese carriers have NOT unlocked their phones.

In addition to gdgdacguy's comments, I would add that if you bought it in Japan, then the warranty would only be valid in Japan. That, combined with the fact that Japanese carriers typically do not unlock phones, suggests to me that it would not be wise to purchase an iPhone in Japan in your case. You should just buy one in the country you intend to use it in.

Where in Japan do you want to buy it? I'm planning to get one in Japan in an Apple store. I'm pretty sure those will be unlocked / simfree - but will ask them in the store anyway. If you buy one via a Japanese carrier you can unlock them after 6 months for a fee of 3000 yen I believe.
