Q: Could not setup Apple Pay After updating to iOS10
I recently factory reset my iPhone and setup as new, I found that I can't setup Apple Pay. When I tried to add a card. It will load and says
"Could Not Set Up Apple Pay"
"An error occurred while setting up Apple Pay"
I have tried
- Restarting my iPhone
- Changing Language & Regions
- Try setting it up in different network condition (Cellular, Home Wifi, Office Wifi)
- Changing iPhone passcode
- Changing AppleID password
- Signing out iCloud & App Store and re-signin
- Restore iPhone firmware from iTunes, setup as new
- Restore iPhone firmware from iTunes, restore as previous OK backup
- Erase Contents and Settings on my iPhone, setup as new
- Erase Contents and Settings on my iPhone, restore as previous OK backup
- DFU restore
- Recovery restore
- Tried all these reset/restore methods on different computers (Home computer, office computers)
None of these works for me.
- I tried pushing the add card buttons on my other devices, iPad Pro & Apple Watch (via iPhone watch app). And found that I can't add cards as well (Because I didn't reset them and they still have my Cards there).
- I go to appleid.apple.com to remove Apple Pay information from these devices and try again. No luck.
However, I found that If I sign in iCloud with another AppleID, the add a card button works.
- Reinstalled or wipe my devices so many times
- Other devices that have been sitting idle, no changes or anything, the add card button didn't work as well.
I am starting to feel like this is something to do with my information on the iCloud.
I tried to visit the genius, upon hearing what I've tried, and they says they're sorry and that they will escalate the issue and I've never heard from them again.
A bit frustrating here, since Apple Pay is one of my favourite features on the iPhone.
