Q: my phone has an incorrect itune user name in a pop up asking for my password. This is not my user name so there is no password. The right one is listed in my preferences in my phone but does not let me delete the wrong one.

Just bought a new iPhone 7. It was set up at Verizon and for the most part is working. The problem is a popup message asking for password for Itune  with a username that is not mine. I went to itune and typed in the incorrect username and was told there was no such account. I went to my preferences in the phone and the username is correct. Where did this new phone get this incorrect user name and how do I get rid of it.

iPhone 7 Plus, iOS 10.0.2, new

Where is it asking you for this? While you are on the home screen? The phone is activated correct? Did you restore this phone from a backup of your old device? Is it possible there is content on that old device that was downloaded with another Apple ID, that would exist in your library?
