Then you can use a cloner software, like Carbon Copy Cloner to make a clone of the existing hard disk to the boot disk (assuming you don't have >500GB worth of files on it. )
If you have not used SSD before.. you will never go back to spinning drives.
Samsung 850 Evo series, are excellent and fast value for money.. but check yourself what is recommended.

Make sure any third party apps you use are up to date for El Capitan.
