Sep 17, 2016 1:57 PM in response to o_alienistaby rmcgirr,Exact same issues for my iPad Air 2 after updating and apparently thousands of other people have the same exact issues after the same update yet Apple denies that it has anything to do with the update. They offer no fix, but you can exchange it plus $400 for a new one. Apple is so awesome.

Sep 19, 2016 6:34 AM in response to woodstok1979by ZiadLabib,i have had the same issues ever since 9.3.3 on my iphone 6. i have tried every single thing possible on the internet. Contacted apple and said to do a restore and issues still persisted. Phone is also out of warranty. Problem is not only that the touch id does not work, but simultaneously that battery is being drained as well. The battery was completely fine before the upgrade. Dont ask or assume that battery was failing already because it wasnt. The battery now drains from 50%-0% in 4 hours even in airplane mode and battery save- every single day!
Today i unplugged the battery and touch id sensor components and put them back in place. Still the same issue. Also installed ios 10 as a last solution to solve this issue- nothing!
It seems with the new iphone apple is going to put this under the rug unless someone can prove this was caused by software update!!
how about another lawsuit?

Sep 19, 2016 7:13 AM in response to ZiadLabibby Opt1mvs,I am having EXACTLY the same problem as you, except the phone is still under warranty (2 years in the EU).
If you close all the background processes (Siri, spotlight search, handoff, location services) , dim the display to minimum and turn off the automatic display lock you will get over 20 hours of standby. Again, this is with display on - so obviously the battery is still very good.
Currently I have submitted the diagnostic files to Apple support and I'm waiting for a reply.

Sep 24, 2016 11:44 AM in response to boilerfan97by greenea13,I had the exact same problem. Just turn off your phone, take out your sim card(you can use a needle), turn your phone back on and your touch ID will work again. Just turn your phone off put your sim card back in and it should be all good (:

Sep 27, 2016 3:24 AM in response to woodstok1979by georg2511,I wonder if anyone went to an Apple Store and asking them how it can be possible, that all of a sudden hundreds of Iphones seem to have a Hardware Problem ?? I mean, just look into this Disscussion Board and you will see how many People have the very same Problem after an Update, using either Ipad, Iphone 5s up to 6+? I would assume that no one at Apple really Looks into These Boards!?

Oct 1, 2016 11:03 PM in response to woodstok1979by rizkyonathan,I HAVE THE SAME EXACTLY ISSUE, my touch id is no longer working
uh, i want to ask something, did water damage causes the touch id was break? two months ago, my iphone 5s suffered water damage and it was totally dead.
I bring it to the official service center, the name is "iBox", i'm feeling so unsatisfied with their service, because they said that i have to exchange it, because they can't service it, but the funny thing is they provide service center, but they can't service it. ****. THEY said i can bring it to an unofficial service, and what a lucky for me, just need three days to heal my iphone 5s. the cost was extremely (cheaper) than i have to exchange it.
after my iphone 5s working fine, and touch id is still working too, and then when the ios (i forgot) 9.3 or 9.3.5, a few days after it, there is notice "unable to complete setup please go back and try again"
i have try all solutions that i found on the internet, it still doesn't work! i'm feeling so unlucky.
and now i'm on my way to ask apple support, but they just suggest me to WAIT.
do you all have any suggestions please?
p.s : if the iOs is still bad, and can make some issues or error, why (you) release it?

Oct 2, 2016 3:58 AM in response to woodstok1979by ZiadLabib,Does anyone know if replacing the Touch ID Home Button Fix the the battery drain issues?
I never had battery drain, but since the touch id stopped working my phone lasts 6 hours on standby and airplane mode, 4 hours if i use it regularly for phone calls, if i go to sleep with my phone at 100% i wake up to it being empty.

Oct 2, 2016 1:33 PM in response to woodstok1979by Stillchels,SO I went to the Apple Store and found out the problem. This answer applies to those that bought their screen through a third party or got their screen fixed by someone other than apple. In the update they found the third party screen people and basically took the Touch ID away. before going to a third party it wouldve been $125 to get your phone fixed but now after goin to the third party it'll be $300 because they say they have to basically replace the whole phone because someone else fixed it. I suggest Either letting it go and typing in the password the old fashioned way or paying $300 for an easy thumb print. The choice is yours.

Oct 2, 2016 9:51 PM in response to woodstok1979by yardilady,I had this same problem, but was able to resolve it. Go to settings/touch id & passcode. I deleted all of my existing touch id's and then added a new touch id. Then I went to outlook when it asked me to authenticate i clicked on cancel and the HOME button with my thumb (the same finger I used to setup the touch id). This part is not intuative, because outlook has a finger print displaying and you think you are supposed to touch the screen or something. It was a simple as touching the round Home button at the bottom of my iphone. I think we are all just over thinking it. That got me in and then I went to the outlook settings (inside the app at the bottom right of screen) and turned of the require touched id. Hope this helps!
