Q: Will the battery of my MacBook air get damaged if I keep it plugged in for long hours?
I just bought a new MacBook air, and it pretty much stays on my desk most of the time. I wanted to know if the battery of MacBook will get damaged if I leave plugged in for extensively long hours even after it is fully charged?
MacBook Air, iOS 10.0.2

There's no danger in keeping your computer plugged in all day. The system fast charges the battery until it reaches about 95% charged and then trickle charges it until it reaches 100%. At that point if you keep the computer plugged it the charging will stop and the battery will discharge to not quite 95% and will begin trickle charging again. To keep your battery healthy Apple recommends that once or twice a month you take it off the charger and use the battery for the day.
I have a 2011 MBA which tended to be kept plugged in most of the time. I set a repeating reminder for the fourth Friday of the month and that weekend I'd use it on battery, recharging it overnight and using it on battery during the day. For a bit more than 4 years I got great battery life and then it began dropping off. I replaced the battery this July.
