Q: Cannot install Windows 7 x64 on Boot Camp for Sierra, only allows Windows 10 or later?

Hello all,

I'm unable to install my version of Windows 7 Ultimate on my 2013 iMac 27" running MacOS Sierra. Boot camp assistant says "Need 64-bit Windows 10 or later ISO file."

Any way around this? My Macbook Pro had Windows 7 installed, and after I upgraded it to Sierra, am still able to load Windows 7. I'd rather not have to wipe my iMac, install El Capitan, install boot camp, then upgrade to Sierra, then re-install all my software.

Main reason why I want Windows 7 is Windows Media Center, something that isn't available on the later version of Windows, and I abhor Metro. I know there's work arounds for both, but I'd rather go with the version of Windows that I'm comfortable with.
